Obituary for Joe Osborne

Joe Osborne, 55, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held just prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Joe was born on February 18, 1956 in Cawood, Kentucky to Jim and Velma (Johnson) Osborne. He attended Cawood Schools and moved to Coldwater in 1974 to get a job at Midwest Foundry. He worked there until it closed in 1989. He later worked for a mushroom farm in Orland, IN that was part of Campbell’s Soup and most recently he worked for the Letica Co. in Fremont, IN.

To know Joe was to love him. He never met a stranger and had a contagious smile that would light up any room as soon as he walked in. He was the joker of the family and loved the outdoors. He especially loved fishing and would teach anybody how to fish, his favorite students being his nieces and nephews. Joe had a great love for animals, especially dogs. He was also a very talented golfer and enjoyed his time on the course.

Joe had a passion for University of Kentucky basketball and was their most loyal fan, but his greatest love was his family. He would do anything for them. He was the best brother, uncle and cousin anyone could ever ask for and will be greatly missed.

Joe is survived by his brothers Walter (Teresa) Osborne of Quincy, Jim Osborne, Wink (Jean) Osborne, Michael Osborne, all of Coldwater and Clark (Linda) Osborne of Coxs Creek ,KY, his sisters Mary Osborne and Alberta Osborne of Coldwater, Betty (Arthur) Dean of Indianapolis, IN, his 1st wife, Debra (Rodgers) Osborne, his 2nd wife, JoAnn (Holland) Osborne, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and many many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1969, his father in 2006, his infant sister, Michelle, in 1968 and his special friend, Anita Williams, in 2009.
