Obituary for Martha V. Sikorski


Martha V. Sikorski, 86, of Bronson, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 3 – 8:00 PM with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.
Martha was born February 10, 1927 in Bronson, MI to John & Magdeline (Wotta) Kruszka. She married Donald L. Sikorski on October 27, 1956, being the first to marry in the new St. Mary’s Church in Bronson. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2011.
Mrs. Sikorski graduated as valedictorian of the Bronson High School Class of 1945. She was a bookkeeper/accountant for over 48 years at Bronson Reel, Bronson Products, Bronson Specialties, Kuhlman Corp and finally Solvay Automotive, retiring in 1993.
Martha was a member of St. Mary’s Church and enjoyed a variety of interests including reading, playing cards, square dancing, game shows, sewing and quilting. She was extremely proud of her polish heritage; she enjoyed teaching others the language and absolutely loved listening to polka music. Martha adored her family, she was most humble of her own talents and always esteemed others higher than herself.
Martha is survived by her daughters Lori (Tom) Ringwelski of Overland Park, KS, Sherri (Ken) Shreves of Salem, WV, her grandchildren Justin (April) Shreves of Bridgeport, WV, Brandon Shreves of Morgantown, WV, Amber Shreves of San Diego, CA, Andy Ringwelski of Richmond, KY, Becky (Chris) Autry of St. Louis, MO, her great grandchildren Lucas & Morgan Shreves and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her brothers Leonard & Stan Kruszka, sister Rose Losinski and her great grandson Nicholas Shreves.
