Obituary for Maurine E. Olney

Maurine E. Olney, 86, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Community Health Center of Branch Co.
The funeral will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Visitation will be held Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Maurine was born August 6, 1927 in Watervliet Twp., MI to Pryse & Mabel (VanGorder) Stout. She married Richard B. Olney on August 8, 1948 in Coldwater, he preceded her in death in February 2007.
Mrs. Olney was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and had spent many years helping her husband on their family farm. She had also taught school in earlier years for several rural country schools. Maurine was very devout in her faith and had become an ordained minister. She was also a longtime member of Girard United Methodist Church. Maurine was very artistic and loved making crafts, especially the many music boxes she would craft from all sorts of materials. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, flower gardening, and fishing.
Maurine is survived by her son Jim (Terri) Olney of Granbury, TX, her daughter Danelle (Bruce) Bowers of Quincy, her sister Joyce (Rodney) Myers of Coldwater, her grandchildren Brett (Lori) Bowers, Quincy, David (Tracy) Bowers, Rockford, Steve Bowers, Temperance, Jaimie (Jeremy) Adams, Jonesville, Carey Olney, Austin, TX, James Olney, Dallas, TX, Molly (Josh) Olney-Zide, Newark, DE, 6 great grandchildren Cole, Rachel, Bryn, Nash, Brady and Nell.
