Obituary for Allen Frederick Johnson Jr.

Allen Frederick Johnson, Jr., 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Laurels of Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held Thursday May 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Steven Nelson officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 7, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home

Allen was born April 12, 1925 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Allen F. & Angeline (Dietsch) Johnson He married Donna J. Curtis August 19, 1978 in Quincy MI.

Allen ran the family farm as a teenager due to a crippling injury to his father and he took care of his parents until he graduated high school. He was a service manager at a garage in Montpelier, OH .Retired in 1990 from Dana Corp in Hillsdale as a supervisor. After retirement he worked for Swift-Echrich as a security guard for 9 years.

Allen was instrumental in starting little League in Hillsdale, Co. He formerly played independent League Baseball for many years. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Allen is survived by his wife Donna, sons Allen (Tina) Johnson of Hartford City IN, Steven (Melanie) Nelson of Quincy, MI., and Relmond Allgire daughters Mary Gail Maxson of Canon City, CO, Debra L (Ron) Salkeld of Macomb MI, Teresa Nelson of Avilla IN, Karen Nelson of Coldwater, Cindy (Roland) Pouget of Oxford MI, Christine Nelson of Quincy, and Janice Nelson of Coldwater. Sisters Bernice Hageman and Shirley (Curt) Little. Over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, sister Florence Newhard, and daughters Susan Allgire, Joy Johnson, and grandson Matthew Gene Woodman.

Memorial by be directed to American Heart Association or Southern Care Hospice.
