Javetta K. Jones, 89, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Mark Vyverman officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 2-4:00 PM, with the Rosary to begin at 4:00 PM, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Javetta was born August 18, 1925 in Detroit, MI to Joseph & Gertrude (Bishop) Grocholski. She received her cosmetology certification from Wright Beauty School in Battle Creek and had worked as a cosmetologist for a few years. Javetta married Dr. Percy E. Jones on January 5, 1952 in Bay City, MI. Together they opened Jones Veterinarian Clinic in Coldwater where they worked together for many years.
Mrs. Jones was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Exchange Club, Branch CO. Aviation Club, MI Veterinary Association Auxiliary and the Elks. She enjoyed flying with her husband and together they spent much time traveling. Javetta loved the outdoors and gardening and was an MSU football and basketball fan.
Javetta is survived by her daughter Kae Jones of Coldwater and special caregivers Jane Kosmerick and Barb Poe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy, on March 30, 1989 and her twin brother Robert Bishop in 1984.
