Obituary for Dean E. Davis

Dean E.  Davis
Dean Edward Davis, 77 of Bronson passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Church in Bronson with Pastor Cory Weatherton officiating. In following Dean’s wishes, cremation will take place after the service and the family will have a private interment of ashes. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

Dean was born March 15, 1938 to Edward “Jack” and Opal (Corwin) Davis in Bronson. After graduation from Bronson High School, Dean continued his life-long passion of farming. During high school, he was active in sports. On May 11, 1958, he married Nora Rosenberry at Girard Methodist Church.

While growing up, he participated in and later enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren in 4-H. Dean enjoyed his pulling horses. He was a man of faith and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Church. He treasured his family. He will be remembered as being bighearted, selfless, helpful, hardworking, and friendly with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

Dean is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nora Davis of Bronson; his children Risa (Clyde) Kibiloski of Bronson, Julia (John) Lindsey of Bronson, Dena (Michael) Conine of Leslie, Sandra (Steve) Shiery of Bronson, Brad (Bethanie) Davis of Weston, WY, and Clint (Angel) Davis of Bronson; his siblings Onnolee (Bob) VanHusan of Dowagiac, Beth Somerlott of Bronson, Carolee (Jim) Rowe of Ceresco, Dale (Sally) Davis of Bronson; his brother-in-law Don Fowler of Coldwater; his grandchildren Austin Mitchell, Adam Lindsey, Jonathan (Allison) Lindsey, Jacie (Ben) Miller, Jacob, Raechel, Casey, Hailey, and Joshua Conine, Jesse (Rachel) Draper, Denise, Laney, and Jalen Draper, Angus Shiery, Randon and Kaston Davis, Christianna and Layton Davis, Seth Roberts, and Blake Herman; his great grandchildren Mason and Anna Lindsey, and Albany Miller; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Eleanor Fowler; and his brother-in-law Charles Somerlott.
