Obituary for Evelyn B. Tackett

Evelyn B.  Tackett
Evelyn B. Tackett, 91, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born January 5, 1925 to Charles Ross and Ellen Gulah (Marsh) Canfield in Coldwater. She married Everett Tackett on April 20, 1946 in Angola, Indiana, he preceded her in death on February 11, 2009.
Evelyn worked as a clerical secretary for Coldwater Board of Public Utilities for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Coldwater American Legion Auxiliary and assisted with the local Coldwater elections for many years. Evelyn enjoyed reading, cooking, listening to music and traveling with her husband and their friends. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her family was the light of her life. She adored her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a very generous and giving person, everything she did was to perfection.
She is survived by her children Linda Kay (William) Ladd of Elkhart, Indiana, Lana Marie Tackett Finch of Nashville, Tennessee, Teresa Sue (Mark) Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; her grandchildren, Chloe Yashinsky, Emily Yashinsky, Olivia (Jim) Guthrie, Lindsey (Matt) Racz, William Ladd, Sadie (Matt) Payne, Talina (Adam) Buker, Erik Phillips; 14 great grandchildren and her sister Hilda McCarthy of Alameda, California. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Everett, her parents, her sisters, Alice Musser and Alene Fee and her brother Richard Canfield.
She will be greatly missed.
