Obituary for Kathy J. Ludwick

OBIT
Kathy J. Ludwick, 57, of Bronson, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, after a long, brave battle with cancer on Friday, November 18, 2016.
The funeral will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Chaplain A.J. Dirschell officiating. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Bronson American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Kathy was born December 28, 1958 in Charlotte, MI to Raymond “Jack” & Ella “Marie” (Hampton) Garvey. She married Rock L. Ludwick on October 22, 1983 in Pflugerville, TX and served in the US Army during the Grenada Invasion.
Kathy earned her Associates Degree from Kellogg Community College in 1994, becoming a licensed dental hygienist shortly after. She worked many years for Dr. David Rubley and was currently still working for Dr. Amanda Bucklin at Bucklin Family Dentistry in Coldwater. She loved her work as a hygienist and had many beloved patients.
When her children were younger she was actively involved in all their school activities. She continued to be involved in 4H throughout her life, serving on the 4H Leaders Council. When she wasn’t hunting or watching U of M sports, she stayed busy creating many special moments with her event decorating talents. She was also dedicated to the sport of crossfit, being a founding member of Tungsten Crossfit.
Kathy’s real and abiding passions were her family and her community. Kathy and her husband, Rock, sought to instill in their children an endearing love for one another, a zest for life, and a desire to care for others in need.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Rock, her children Casey (Peter) Falen of Long Island, NY, Ashly Ludwick, Bobby Ludwick both of Kalamazoo, Rock “Buster” Ludwick II of Bronson, her brother Raymond (Char) Garvey and sisters Linda (Hugh) Wolcott, Kirsti (Darwin) McIntyre all of Nashville and Rex-Ann (David) Lee of Middleville and special friend Brenda Harris-Converse of Charlotte and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, all of whom she loved very deeply.
Memorials may be directed to the 4H Leaders Council. www.dutcherfh.com.
