Obituary for Raymond "Ray" Sturtz

Raymond "Ray" Sturtz
Raymond “Ray” Sturtz, 69 of Coldwater passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A memorial service will take place in the spring of 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Raymond was born April 7, 1947 to William and Alice (Gilmore) Sturtz in Youngstown, OH. He spent his entire life in the Coldwater area and has lived, worked, and participated at Adapt, Inc. since 1986. Earlier this year, he “retired” from his daily duties at Adapt and started going to the Senior Center to play games, especially bingo.

Ray was a man with a great sense of humor and liked to tease people. He never complained and truly enjoyed life. He had an extensive stuffed animal collection and treated each as if they were family. Ray’s favorite meal was getting Taco Bell take home with baked beans and a Mountain Dew. He will be missed by many.

Raymond is survived by his siblings Robert (Patricia) Sturtz of Summerfield, FL, Richard (Carol) Sturtz of Angola, Mary (Dudley) Sturtz-Stratford of New Zealand, and Helen Sturtz of Coldwater; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Charles, Joseph, W. Dale, Paul, and James Sturtz; his sisters Wanda, Dorothy, Betty, and Martha Sturtz.

Memorials may be directed to Adapt Activities Fund. www.dutcherfh.com
