Obituary for Margaret E. Chapman

Margaret Ellen (West) Chapman
March 30, 1926 – Gladstone, Oregon
January 30, 2017 – Coldwater, Michigan

Margaret was born to Alfred D. West and Alma E. Blackler. She was their fourth of eight children. Margaret loved her family very much and would share stories from when she grew up and how they all had their own chores to do and how they would sometimes switch amongst themselves. She often told stories about family trips with her siblings, antics from her youth and her children and their pets.
Margaret was married to James A. Chapman in 1942 and was married for forty-five years. She was the proud sister to four Brothers and three Sisters. She had seven children of her own and raised one of her granddaughters.
Margaret is survived by her brother Victor (K.C.) West, two sisters Cora Klatt and Barbara Hill. She is also survived by three of her sons Ralph (Alice) Chapman, George (Linda) Chapman, and Michael (Brenda) Chapman . Surviving Grandchildren are: Ted (Amie) Chapman, Lisa Chapman, Monica Nickles, Lynda (Jay) Champion, Nicole Chapman, Elizabeth (Scott) Bennett, Jacob Puro, Megan Puro, Krystal (Daniel) Oestreich, Jeffery Chapman, Shelly Chapman, Christina (Michael) McNees, Lisa M. Chapman, Stacey (Gerald) Lake, John (Brandy) Chapman, and Amy Chapman along with twenty-eight Great Grandchildren and eleven Great Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brothers Ralph West, Harry West, George West, and sister Irene (West) Bentley, three sons John Chapman, Donald Chapman, David Chapman and daughter Donna Chapman and two daughters-in-law Carolyn S (Nagle) Chapman and Theola J (Ware) Chapman, two brothers-in-law James E. Klatt and Donald Hill.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the Committal Shelter at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
