James “Jim” R. Christy
James “Jim” R. Christy, 45, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and chosen family.
A special memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Jim was born August 3, 1971 to James E. and Ruth (Jones) Christy in Flint. He was a 1989 graduate of Davison High School.
Jim married Darcy Willison on May 22, 1993 in Flushing. He was employed in information technology at Hillsdale Community Health Center for 9 years, retiring in 2016. Prior to Hillsdale, he was the Branch County Information Technology Director for 7 years.
Jim loved being involved with the Branch County Shooting League, and had participated with The Company Pistol League for many years. He enjoyed bass fishing, computer gaming and watching sports, especially University of Michigan Football and the Chicago Bears. He especially loved hosting parties and spending time with his chosen family.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Darcy of Coldwater; his brother, Benny Christy of Chicago, Illinois; his niece, Sara (Charles) Kirkpatrick of Portland, Oregon; his aunt, Nelma Masden of Concord, North Carolina and his uncle, Ronald Jones of Endicott, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 2 brothers, Gary and Bryan Christy.
Memorials may be directed to A Special Kind of Caring Hospice, Hillsdale County.
