Obituary for Kenneth "Ken" Worden

Kenneth "Ken"  Worden
Kenneth “Ken” Worden, 70 of Coldwater passed away Monday, May 01, 2017 at the Community Health Center of Branch County while surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Coldwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Elmore and Lay Pastor & Friend Chuck Lillis officiating. A private burial will happen at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born December 15, 1946 to Kenneth R. and Virginia (Green) Worden in Coldwater. After graduation from high school, Ken started a long career working as a truck driver. He worked at Bowling Transport for many years, retiring in 2012 to winter in Florida. On July 12, 1989 he married Barbara Hall Cranson in Coldwater.

Ken attended both Coldwater UMC and First UMC of Lakeland. He was an avid shuffle board player and played professionally in both Michigan and Florida. Ken belonged to Coldwater, Battle Creek, Lakeland, Zephyrhills, Georgetowne and Winter Haven Clubs. He enjoyed being outdoors and living on the lake. Ken also liked spending time fishing, bowling, and feeding the birds.

Ken is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Worden of Coldwater; his daughters Deb (Pat) Irvin of Coldwater and Wendy Johnson; his sister Judy (Ken) Elliott of Coldwater; his grandchildren Taylor (Megan) Irvin, Allison (Jon) Gray, Dalyn (Andrew) Kelley, Aaron Johnson, and Michaela Johnson-Gay; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; good friends John (Dot) Humphreys of Columbus Grove, OH and Clarence (Carol) Greaf of Knoxville, TN; and many lake friends at Coldwater Lake & Georgetowne Mobile Manor in Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great granddaughter Allianna Irvin.
