Obituary for Milton G. McNitt

Milton G. McNitt
Milton G. McNitt, 90 of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment with Military Honors by the Bronson American Legion Post 259 will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.

Milton was born May 22, 1927 to Raymond and Mildred (Treacher) McNitt in Coldwater. Milton left Coldwater High School early to join the US Army, serving during WWII, earning a Victory Medal along with Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. He worked for many years in both manufacturing and different gas stations as he liked interacting with customers. On May 21, 2004 he married Joyce Marks in Coldwater.

Milton was a member of Lockwood Community Church. He was a proud member of the Bronson American Legion. Milton was a man who was always busy, puttering around and tinkering. He enjoyed working on old cars. His upbringing and serving in the Army brought out his reliance for everything being done right the first time and kept in proper order and place. Milton will be remembered as a man of strong will, determination, who liked routine and paid attention to detail.

Mr. McNitt is survived by his wife Joyce McNitt of Coldwater; his sons Raymond and Ronald McNitt; his daughter Christy Richard; 9 grandchildren and his Maltese “Joey”. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Donna McNitt; his daughter Pamela Lidiri; his brother Wayne McNitt; his sister Beverly Kling; and his nephew Michael Ewers.
