Obituary for Sandra Bowers

Sandra Bowers
Sandra “Sandy” Jean Bowers, 81, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Community Health Center of Branch County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Fr. Paul Redmond officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM.
Sandy was born September 16, 1935 to Forest J. and Eunice C. (Ries) Hiser in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She married Clifford Bowers on September 13, 1955 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Sandy worked as an eligibility specialist with the Department of Social Services for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She had also worked at Max Larsen Ford and Shaw Shoe Factory prior to the Department of Social Services.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater, Coldwater Eagles, former Coldwater Lioness, member and past president of State Employee Retirement Association. Sandy was also an Amway Distributor for many years. She enjoyed traveling with Cliff in their motor home, camping, sewing, playing cards, being a Cub Scout Den mother. Sandy especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was lovingly known by her family as an avid whistler.
In addition to her husband Cliff, Sandy is survived by her sons, Cliff (Linda) Bowers, III of Quincy, Kevin (Pamela) Bowers, James (Debora) Bowers, Chris (Jill) Bowers all of Coldwater, grandchildren, Nicole (Seth) Butters, Nathan (Katie) Bowers, Kelsey (Joe) Closson, Kyle (Cairee) Bowers, Cliff Bowers, Sonya Bowers, Gabrielle (Tom) May, Adam Bowers, Shelby Bowers, Tanner Bowers and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother James Hiser and sister Patricia Zahm.
