Hazel "Marie"  Strong
Hazel “Marie” Strong, 89, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Maple Lawn in Coldwater.

In following Marie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial visitation celebrating Marie’s life on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. A private burial will take place at Knauss Cemetery.

Marie was born January 26, 1928 to Robert and Mabel (Myers) Jones in Coldwater. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1946. On June 30, 1946 she married the love of her life, Paul Strong. Marie worked for many years at CHC, retiring in 1990 as the Laundry Supervisor.

Marie was involved with the Eastern Star and the Coldwater Eagles. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her family, cooking & baking cookies. Marie always wanted to feed guests visiting her home. She was a thoughtful woman who always put her family and friends needs above her own. Marie will be remembered as being a compassionate woman who loved her family and looked forward to the weekly visits from her cousin Loralee Eldred.

Mrs. Strong is survived by her daughters Carol (Lloyd) Newland, Marcia (Daryl) Guise all of Coldwater, and Colleen (Parks) Blackwelder of Wake Forest, NC; her grandchildren Lonnie Buckley, Betti Jo (Dave) Alexander, Jay Blackwelder, and Anna (Evan) Sieler; her great grandchildren Alexys (Logan) Clark, Diamond (Kiefer) Lah, Karee Buckley, Logan Lambert, and Wyatt Sieler; her great, great grandchildren Kolton and Kennedi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and infant son Edward Lee.
