Obituary for Betty N. Farler

Betty Nan Farler, 80, of Coldwater passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Arbor Manor in Spring Arbor.

A graveside service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Cornwell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Betty was born October 6, 1936 to Fred and Carrie (Hackworth) Farler in Bridgewater, MI. Betty was big on helping kids stay out of trouble. She owned restaurants and kids hangouts in Burr Oak, Tekonsha, and Parma in her younger years. Betty then became a nurse’s aide working in home healthcare, foster homes, and finally at ADAPT where she retired in 2002 after 10 plus years.

Betty had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed knitting & crocheting scarves and also flower gardening. Betty was fond of doing puzzles, where upon completion she would frame them. In her youth, she played in a country music band and continued playing her guitar and singing the rest of her life. Betty always had a positive outlook on life. She will be remembered for her giving nature and willingness to help those in need.
Mrs. Farler is survived by her son Michael (Tina) Hill of Garrett, IN; her daughters Catherine Bowser of Topeka, IN and Carrie Foote of Tekonsha; her sister Helen Grantham of Battle Creek; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild; many nieces & nephews; her dear friends Janet Baron and Mike Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Dick and Albert Farler; her son-in-law’s David Eugene Foote and Jeffery Bowser.
