Obituary for Beth Marie Meyer

Beth Marie  Meyer
Beth Marie Meyer, 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 surrounded by family at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Frank Snyder and Dr. Bruce Meyer co-officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Beth was born December 21, 1934 to Roe A. and Agnes I. (Culver) McCracken in Ypsilanti. After graduating from Bronson High School in 1953, she went to West Suburban Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago graduating in 1956 as a Registered Nurse.
She married Robert Meyer on March 2, 1957 in Bronson. Beth worked as an Obstetrics Nurse at Coldwater Hospital for over 16 years, she was the Director of Admitting at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington, Illinois and as a State of Illinois Utilization Review Nurse for seven area hospitals in Illinois. She was also a longtime Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay.
Beth enjoyed reading, birdwatching, music, knitting, entertaining, gardening and being the keeper of the family tree. She was also active in her local church: directing the choir and music groups and with playing the piano and organ.
Beth is survived by her husband of 60 years Robert; her sons, Brian K. (Diana) Meyer of Hudson, Indiana and Dr. Bruce K. (Kathy) Meyer of Watertown, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Kent, Brianne, Kurt (Trisha), Ryan (Jenny), Stephen (Cherith), Alyssa and Seth; her great grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Brytlynn, Fallon, Keegan, Kelsey, Kiley, Kenzley, Kaydence, Kambree, Micah and Ana; her sister, Norma Byers of Haslett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Alexis Meyer and her sister Shirley Malloch.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church of Quincy or to Great Lakes Hospice.
The Meyer family would like to give special thanks to Beth’s medical team at the University of Michigan Hospital, the Community Health Center of Branch County and the Great Lakes Caring Hospice Team.
