Obituary for Jo Ann Zabonick

Jo Ann Zabonick, 75, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark’s Memorial Garden with interment of ashes in the columbarium. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Jo Ann was born May 4, 1942 in Louisville, KY to John & Inez (Nale) Coleman. She graduated from Defiance College in Ohio, earning her BS in Biology. She married Robert Zabonick on April 11, 1964 in Coldwater.
Jo Ann worked as a lab tech for many years at Med Tech, Oaklawn Hospital and various doctor’s offices in Marshall. She later worked for Defiance Environmental Services, from which she retired in 2004.
Mrs. Zabonick lived in the Marshall and Defiance areas for many years before coming to Coldwater. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, Grace Episcopal in Defiance and most recently St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater. Jo Ann belonged to the Jaycee Auxiliary, Marshall’s Social Sorority Beta Sigma Phi and bowled on a league for many years. She had been active in 4H with her children, serving on the horse judging team and enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts. Jo Ann was also a master gardener.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband Robert, her children John (Wanda) Zabonick of Cincinnati, Leslie (Jeff) Parshall of Marshall, her grandchildren Rachel, Sarah & Jake Zabonick, Stephanie & Nick Parshall, her brother-in-law Richard Zabonick of Coldwater and numerous cousins.
