Dorothy L.  Patton
Dorothy Louise Patton, 91 of Coldwater passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Burlington Church of God with Pastor David Rails officiating. Interment will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Dorothy was born August 30, 1926 to Ora and Ethel (Taylor) Kidney in Medic. She has been a life-long resident of the Coldwater area, growing up in Burlington and remaining in the area to be close to family. Dorothy was a woman of faith. She attended the Burlington Church of God before health reasons kept her from traveling to Sunday services. Dorothy had a soft spot for animals. She was a “home body” enjoying gardening, John Wayne and old western movies. Dorothy liked to go to garage sales and local restaurants for a few meals a week. Her true joy in life was spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Patton is survived by her daughter-in-law Jacqueline Lawton of Coldwater; her brother James (Ruthann) Kidney of Burlington; her grandchildren Terri (Jerry) Lewis, Jennifer (Matt) Smith, Troy (Khala) Patton and Nichole (Rich) Ellis; eight grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children William Charles, Michael Wayne, Bruce Henry, and Nancy Kay Patton; her sister Janet Marie Kidney; and her brother Bud Kidney.
