Obituary for Retha L. Pike

Retha L.  Pike
Retha Lucille Pike, 94, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Retha was born February 1, 1923 to William and Clairbelle (Chappell) Boyd in LaGrange, Indiana. She had worked in the Dietary Department at Community Health Center of Branch County for many years, retiring in 1985. Retha volunteered countless hours with the Foster Grandparent Program at Headstart in Coldwater and Quincy. She had co owned a plant and candle shop in Coldwater for many years in the 1970’s.
She was a member of the Mother’s of Twins Chapter in Coldwater. Retha enjoyed all types of gardening, crocheting, making dolls but she especially loved her grandchildren.
Retha is survived by her children; Barbara (David) Bennett of Kalamazoo, William W. Birch of Battle Creek, Roy “Rusty” Birch of Quincy, Timmie Birch of Quincy, Jimmie Birch of Quincy and Charles Birch of Bronson; her step-sons; David (Linda) Pike of Tucson, Arizona, Harry (Sandy) Pike of Seattle, Washington and Raymond Pike of Tucson, Arizona her 11 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ruthanne Palmateer, her 10 sisters and 2 brothers, her grandson Paul Palmateer and her previous husbands, Harold Harger, Roy R. Birch and Harry S. Pike.
