Obituary for Carl King

Carl King
Carl W. King, 91, of Union City, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Girard United Methodist Church with Pastor Cydney Idsingna officiating.
Carl was born December 31, 1925 in Battle Creek, MI to Charles & Mertie (Carpenter) King. He married Orvis Henry on July 31, 1945 in Burlington, MI, she preceded him in death November 24, 2014.
Mr. King was a lifelong farmer for over 50 years, operating his family farm in Girard and Union Township. He served on the Zoning Committee in Girard Township for many years. Carl was proud to have been involved in the Palm Sunday Emergency Response in 1965 and enjoyed being an amateur radio operator. He was a hardworking man, not afraid to buck the system and always treated others the way he would want to be treated.
Carl is survived by his son Kevin King of Union City, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael King his daughter Corliss Fleming, his sister Merna Mayo, and his favorite dog “Gia”.
